RNA-Ligand Interactions

Structural characterisation and small molecule binding

A Chirascan case study.

Bell Et Al

In this experiment, a structural analogue to stem loop 3 of HIV-1 genomic RNA was titrated against increasing concentration of small molecule NSC260594, which is a compound with putative antiviral activity.

The spectral changes observed below 250 nm indicated direct interaction between the RNA and its ligand.
