The Beauty of Light

At Applied Photophysics, we believe that science and innovation should go hand in hand with making a meaningful impact. That’s why we’re proud to launch The Beauty of Light, our 2025 charity campaign in partnership with Sightsavers. For every instrument order placed between January 1st and June 30th, 2025, we will donate £500 to Sightsavers, supporting their mission to fight avoidable blindness and promote equal opportunities for people with visual impairments worldwide. 

 

Help Us Make a Difference 

 

As a research and drug discovery instrument provider we care very much about supplying the most effective tools to allow scientists access to the most informative data, helping guide critical decisions.  At Applied Photophysics and Protein Stable, we do this by using light to look deep into the most complex biological challenges. 

As a responsible company, we also care about the challenges in the wider world, which is why we have partnered with Sightsavers, a charity that has been working for 75 years to prevent avoidable blindness, fight disease, and ensure equality for everyone. 

What better partnership could a company using light for research into biological systems choose than to help thousands of unfortunate people around the world see the Beauty of Light?  We have committed to sending Sightsavers £500 from every instrument we sell in the first half of 2025.  According to Sightsavers, £500 could provide 15 cataract operations or provide treatments to prevent over 2,000 families from losing sight to river blindness.

How It Works 

 

• Place an order for any qualifying instrument between January 1st and June 30th, 2025. 

• For each order, we donate £500 to Sightsavers on your behalf. 

• Together, we’ll help combat avoidable blindness and transform lives. 
• Customers may receive a confirmation email acknowledging their contribution. 

Sightsavers is an internationally recognised organisation working to eliminate avoidable blindness and advocate for disability rights in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Their work spans over 30 countries, providing eye examinations, distributing glasses, funding cataract surgeries, and promoting inclusive education and employment opportunities. 

By supporting Sightsavers, we ensure that our scientific advancements also contribute to real-world progress—helping individuals regain their sight and live independently.
